Bryant Park & Location05, New York, NY - Jenny Yoo Bridal Styled Shoot
Modern. Elegant. Classy.
These were the words that inspired this styled shoot I pulled together in the end of March 2019. Each of the vendors and models included in the shoot were asked to take those words and re-interpret it in the way that was reflective of their style and personality.
If you're unfamiliar with what a styled shoot is, let me take a quick second here to clarify. The bride and groom you see in these images are two friends of mine, Tobee and Meghan. While they aren't actually engaged to be married, both are incredible professionals at their respective crafts (acting and modeling), as well as just being incredible people. Between their amazing personalities, and my bomb-ass playlist blasting all day, we were able to relax, have some fun, and take some amazing pictures.
Additionally, I am forever grateful to the rest of the team, who deserve a massive shoutout before I break down the shoot further. On makeup, we have Maraiana Collignon, someone who I've had the great opportunity to work with in the past, and had to include on this shoot. On hair, we have Hair by Cedric, who was gracious enough to allow us to take photos in his space (which are the photos you see with the blue background) at the beginning of the day. The locations you see are Bryant Park and Location05. Finally, as a centerpiece for the whole shoot, our dress was provided by the Jenny Yoo Collection.
The purpose of the shoot was to try out some new lighting setups, experiment with photographing on film (which I haven't done since high school), as well as just reconnect with some friends I haven't worked with in a while to create some amazing images. By working in a controlled environment like a styled shoot, we don't have the hectic and stress of a wedding day, and I can focus on honing my craft.
If you're currently looking for a wedding photographer, I hope these images give you an idea of the compositions, styles, and mood I love to evoke in my images. You can see the story of us starting at Cedric's salon for preparations, going to Bryant Park to take formal portraits, and then ending at Location05 with a dance.
