Arthouse Hotel & The Central Park Loeb Boathouse Wedding

It's always extra nervewracking to have clients who are themselves artists - you know going into it that their wedding is not just an exercise in event planning, but as an aesthetic and artistic endeavor in its own right. So the pressure's on to not just be there and be present and capture the moment, but also be aligned with their creative vision and capture it the way that they would want it captured.

On top of that, not only are Keiji and Michael frighteningly talented artists in their own right, but it seemed like every one of their guests were equally talented and creative. Starting with Harry Potter quotes during the ceremony, to plenty of singing (planned or otherwise), I knew this was going to be a special one as soon as they sent me their timeline.

Our day started at the Arthouse Hotel NYC, and then with a ceremony / reception at the Central Park Boathouse, every minute was planned to a t. Both fantastic locations, I had a great time working with everyone at both venues.

I hope you like these photos, and if you're currently in the process of planning your own wedding, don't hesitate to contact me! While this wedding was in NYC, I travel all over for my clients.

Can we give Justin a 10 star review?!

Hire Justin Ho. Just do it, you won’t regret it.

In our post-wedding funk, we were able to look back on Justin’s photos and fully relive every part of the day in vivid detail. Not only does he take gorgeous photos, he is magically able to capture some of the most intimate and fleeting moments of the day without anyone feeling like they were posing for anything. The photos are also a portfolio of inventive perspectives that you would never even think to ask for from a wedding photographer. You get all the value you expect from the standard posed wedding photos, with the added bonus of some of the most unique preparation, ceremony, and reception photos you could ask for. The shots of us dancing with our moms look like stills from an art house film. The photos from the dance floor look — well, there’s no other way to describe it than they look LIT. I don’t know how Justin managed to make it look like we were at a full-on rave, but he did.

What we really appreciated about Justin is his communicativeness before the event. We had an in-person meeting with him where he spent a lot of time getting to know us and our vibe and then followed up with phone calls and e-mail to get the best sense of what we wanted in terms of shots. Then he just went an extra 10 miles.

We haven’t stopped looking at our photos. We can’t recommend Justin enough.
